Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MAProgress (the "Site", "we", "us", or "our") collects and uses your personal information when you visit, use our services, or make a purchase from https://shop.maprogress.com (the "Site") or via our events page http://app.maprogress.com or otherwise communicate with us (collectively, the "Services").


We collect personal information from you, including information about your:

  • Name
  • contact information
  • location
  • billing or purchase information
  • Username
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Contact details for your emergency contacts if you have a subscription for a GPS tracking device through us
We collect your personal information in order to:
  • Provide you with any products and services you request or sign up for.
  • Set-up or administer your account
  • Contact you to clarify details about your account, order or event registration or to respond to any of your enquiries.
  • Invoice you, or receive payment from you, for any of our products or services that require payment
  • Provide you with updated information on any events you have registered for.
  • Conduct feedback surveys on our services.
  • We may use some of your information to display it when you register for a Public Event. The information we display will be determined by the event organiser and may include/but not limited to; your Name, Age, Gender, Town. The only compulsory information is your Name, and for this you may use a pseudonym if you do not want your real name available.
  • Providing some information is optional.  Some information will be compulsory so that we may provide you with a product or service.
Besides our staff, we may share this information with:
  • Globalstar (our current satellite communications company) and other emergency services providers in order to track and provide safety during your adventure or event.

Use and Disclosure:
Personal information is used and disclosed for the purposes consistent with the reason it was obtained, and the core purposes of MAProgress. Reasonable steps will be taken to ensure personal information is complete, relevant, and up to date.  Personal information is disclosed to other parties only where there is legal authority to do so.  MAProgress will take reasonable steps to ensure third parties protect the personal information we share with them in line with legislation (within New Zealand), and, if offshore, with the same care MAProgress gives to it.
 
Storage:
MAProgress stores information with reasonable safeguards against loss and disclosure. Reasonable safeguards include using physical and technological protections against unauthorised access. MAProgress will not keep information for longer than is necessary.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong.
